    Vincent SV-200 Hybrid Integrated Amplifier

Compact in all but sound quality

The SV-200 is the little brother to the SV-237MK and the SV-700 integrated amplifiers. Despite the compact construction, high dynamics and low noise stand out when listening to this amplifier. With two 6N1 tubes in the processing chain, your music comes to life with warm richness.

    Key Features:

    • Hybrid tube & solid-state amplification
    • 25W power output per speaker
    • Class AB operation
    • Two 6N1 tubes deliver a classic warm sound
    • High dynamic-range and low noise
    • Analog & digital inputs
    • High-quality speaker binding posts

    Tried & Tested Technology

As with the SV-700, Vincent opted for a design based on the SRPP principle (Shunt Regulated Push-Pull). This provides high dynamics and a low noise level for a true high-fidelity listening experience.

In the input stage, Toshiba's FET transistors, which take over the pre-amplification of the signal, work in combination with two 6N1 vacuum tubes, which play a leading role in shaping the sound.

    The Best of Both Worlds

The characteristics of valve amplifiers have been known for a long time. Their sound has supporters in every realm of music production and enjoyment. Although transistors are much more robust and durable as amplifier components, valve technology very much still has a part to play in hi-fi devices.

Vacuum tubes deliver the classic “tube sound,” whereas solid-state circuitry in the output stage provides enough power to drive even the most demanding and power-hungry speakers. The tonal characteristic is both airy and dynamic. The hybrid design offers its own special charm using tubes to add warmth to the sound.

The concept of having the best of both transistors and tubes is proven true by the units from Vincent's tubeLine range. It is Vincent's belief that implementing valve amplification in at least one part of the system is hugely beneficial to the sound experience. Powerful, but with elegance, the SV-200 delivers rich tones that pull the listener into the music. To see the 6N1 tubes in action, cast your eye to the port on the front of the unit. The interior can be lit with a warm light, and dimmed via a switch on the back if you choose.

    Power

In the power supply, a toroidal transformer with a total capacity of 13600 µF provides sufficient power to the amplifier. This keeps the signal constant and unwanted noise down, allowing you to hear all the subtle dynamics of your music without being disturbed by a noisy power supply.

The final gain stage in the output section is taken over by four additional Toshiba transistors operating in efficient Class AB mode.

Plenty of Connection & Tone Options

For connecting various sources, the SV-200 features two analogue stereo RCA inputs and two digital inputs (1 x optical, 1 x coaxial). This array of inputs allows the connection of a diverse range of sources, both digital and analogue.

For connecting a recording device and an active subwoofer, a Rec output and a Pre-output are available. With the Pre-output, a power amplifier can be connected, allowing you to use the SV-200 purely as a stereo pre-amplifier. In typical Vincent fashion, the choice is yours.

The Perfect Match for the CD-200 Hybrid CD Player

The SV-200 was designed to perfectly match the CD-200 hybrid CD player. Both units feature two 6N1 tubes to enhance the musicality of their audio, and both units are the same compact size. Place them side by side or stacked in tower formation, the CD-200 and SV-200 are perfect for smaller systems that are a little more discreet.

    Vincent CD-200 Hybrid CD Player

A compact CD player with hybrid technology

With the CD-200 hybrid compact CD player, Vincent presents the perfect match for the compact SV-200 hybrid integrated amplifier. Just like the amplifier, the CD-200 is integrated in a compact mini format housing.

Audio is converted by the excellent Burr-Brown PCM176 chip, and passed though a 6N2 vacuum tube for rich, smooth and natural sound.

    Key Features:

    • Powerful hybrid solid state & tube processing
    • 6N2 vacuum tube
    • Burr-Brown PCM176 chip
    • Analog & Digital Outputs
    • 12V Power Control for central control
    • Dedicated headphone output with volume control
    • Compact chassis

    The Fine Details

For reading CD's the proven Sanyo DA11 laser unit is used in combination with a Philips servo board. The self-developed software guarantees an accurate and improved reading of the disc contents.

Digital signals are then converted into analogue by the Burr-Brown PCM1796 DAC chip (sampling rate 24 bit / 192 kHz). The analogue music signal is then processed by an 6N1 vacuum tube, which gives the sound it's character and warmth. For further enhancing of sound quality, each channel also uses independent filtering, amplification and buffering.

A stable power supply is also essential for a quality CD player. It contributes significantly to the final sound characteristic and increases the dynamics. This is why Vincent chose to employ a transformer with two independent coils - one supplies the digital part and the other the analogue part.

The CD-200 can be connected to the amplifier not only via analogue RCA outputs, but also the digital outputs as a CD transport. If, for example, you use an external DAC converter, an optical and a coaxial output are provided.

Scansonic HD L7 Bookshelf Speakers Pair

The L7 is the largest compact speaker in the L Series, promising a powerful, musical experience at an affordable price. Deep bass and crisp, clean highs are made possible by the two-way bass reflex design and combination of 25mm soft dome tweeter and a 6.5" woofer with paper sandwich cone.

Although larger than the L5, the Scansonic L7 speakers are just as versatile and ideal as front or rear surround channels in a 5.1 system.

    Key Features:

    • 1" silk dome tweeter
    • 6.5" paper sandwich construction mid/bass woofer
    • Rear bass reflex port
    • Magnetic fabric grilles included
    • Heavily-braced cabinet for reduced resonance
    • Authentic Scandinavian design

    Introducing the L Series

The L series was developed using Scansonic's experience from their popular M & MB-B series speakers, but specifically with budget in mind. The Scansonic L series, therefore, aims not only for great sound but also value for money. The enclosures of the L Series are rear-ported and deliver rich sound with smooth authentic bass.

    Construction

The L7 speakers use a special paper cone material to achieve the optimum stiffness and damping for the cone size. The woofer is flanked by a high-performance tweeter to give you great performance at this price. The cabinet has been heavily braced and the increased thickness of the walls means that unwanted resonances are kept under tight control.

    Finish

The Scansonic L Series speakers come in 3 finishes; a stealthy home theatre style Theatre Black, a light modern lifestyle look in textured White and a classic home hi-fi vibe in Walnut.

    About Scansonic HD

It would be impossible to introduce Scansonic without first mentioning Raidho. Having worked with Raidho speakers for more than 12 years, this Danish group of engineers and designers found themselves facing a completely new challenge when they were tasked with creating a new range of high-performance speakers for the Scansonic brand.

From the start, Scansonic's team were dedicated to building on all the experiences and strengths obtained from designing the Raidho speakers. At the same time, they also had to be aware of the long heritage and the Nordic design tradition of the Scansonic brand. The ultimate goal was to create the very best possible speakers within reasonable financial limits.
