Predestination is an Australian science fiction film, which chronicles the life of a time travelling U.S Government Temporal Agent whose final assignment is to finally capture the criminal that has eluded him throughout time. Starring Ethan Hawke, Noah Taylor and a breakout performance by Australian actor Sarah Snook, Predestination is loosely based around the short story All you Zombies by American author Robert A. Heinlein.

Filmed in and around Melbourne, Predestination is a blend of sci-fi and crime fiction which probes some big questions of destiny, integrity and strength of character.

Ethan Hawke plays the Agent who must apprehend the “Fizzle” bomber who is a 1970’s New York terrorist who has managed to evade the authorities on multiple occasions. In 1975 Fizzle destroys many blocks of New York and despite his “near-death” encounters time and time again, the Agent has been unable to stop the event which kills hundreds, from occurring.

As he looks set to finish his time traveling career, his final mission is to go back one more time. Recruiting new blood, a man named John, played by Sarah Snook joins him in his quest to stop the bomber. During the film, we discover unique insight into John’s childhood and the reason he isn’t like others.

In a dramatic, intense time travel ride with thrilling layers, Predestination will challenge the viewer in a powerfully different way to many others of the same genre.
