Banana Plugs

Banana plugs are extremely common when it comes to manually wiring speakers. For a hifi speaker system, manually wiring speaker cable can provide a convenient and effective cable solution. In order to protect the terminal connection, banana plugs can be applied to the speaker connection. This ensures longevity and strength of the connection, and can make installation much easier. Banana plugs are suitable for all hifi speakers, however it is recommended to use subwoofer cables for a subwoofer.

The AWG represents the thickness of the speaker cable; lower gauges mean thicker cable. 12 or 14 gauge is recommended for long  sections of wire or high power applications. 16 gauge or higher is more cost-effective for short and simple connections. Make sure the AWG of the banana plugs matches that of your speaker cable.
