Televisions have been getting thinner and larger for years now, with many homes having at least one “flatscreen” TV. Most flatscreens come with their own stand which means you will most likely use a solid piece of furniture for them to sit on to manage a comfortable viewing height. Although this is a popular solution, they are also a lot lighter than the old bulky TVs which lend themselves nicely to wall mounting.
A common question we hear is “What bracket do you have for my 40” TV?” Today we wanted to show all those looking to mount their 40” TVs what their options are. Don’t be too confused by the range available, because there will usually be more than one option that will do the job. Here are four of our most popular options. The great part about all of these brackets is that they come with all the fixings you need for a typical installation into a timber stud-plaster wall. If you have a brick wall or a steel frame, you will need to pick up some appropriate fixings at your local hardware store.
Fixed /Tilt Options
Fixed brackets mean that the television will not able to be moved left or right, but remain flat. Many brackets do allow for a slight tilt up and down to help adjust for potential glare in the room. These brackets can also be fixed in place for a secure flat mounting position.

Full Motion Options
Full Motion brackets mean that the television will be able to move left or right so you can increase the range you can view your screen from, as well as tilt up and down a bit. It is important to keep in mind when looking at the rotation function left and right that as an example, although it may have a maximum swivel of 45 degrees, this will depend on restrictions in the space surrounding the television. I.e: If your TV is large and as you rotate it left, there will be a point where the edge of the TV meets the wall. This will be your maximum rotation.
