Home Theatre in a Box (HTIB) has become a common term used to describe an integrated home theatre audio package, combining a range of components or devices you would need to set up great sound in your own home theatre. Typically a HTIB will not include a television, monitor or projector, but almost everything else you may need. Ideal if you are not technically minded, home theatre in a box means that you don't need a lot of electronic "know-how".

Home Theatre Setup

Popular for their "all-in-one" approach, Home Theatre in a Box lets you enjoy the stereo or surround sound experience without having to select all the individual components. You will feel confident knowing that all the devices will work well together. These are especially helpful if you’ve bought yourself a beautiful big screen tv, only to find out that the sound doesn’t do the picture any justice.

Set ups can and do vary quite a lot, systems can be as simple as a 2.1 with a left and right channel teamed with a subwoofer, however a typical HTIB set up will include a receiver/amplifier and a range of surround sound speakers. DVD or Blu-ray players may sometimes be included in a package, however it is likely you will already have these devices in use with your current TV set up. These systems are pretty simple to install and can really add to your home entertainment experience.
