In the Expendables 3, Sylvester Stallone is once again Barney Ross, together with Lee Christmas, reprised by Jason Statham. With the rest of their team, they come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Barney thought he had killed Stonebanks, who had changed course and become a ruthless arms trader. Having eluded death before, Stonebanks is now making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but in true Expendables style Barney has another plan.

Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet.

The Expendables rescue Doc, who has been imprisoned for eight years, from a train that is transporting him to a maximum security prison. He joins them in the assignment of stopping the dealer Victor Mins during a transaction of bombs. However they discover that the dealer is actually the former Expendable Conrad Stonebanks. Barney’s old team is like a family and they will never leave Barney fighting alone. The returning team of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger are joined by new additions Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson in an explosive “good guys” vs “bad guys” fight.

If you enjoyed the previous two installments, you are going to love this one too. Stallone who co-wrote all three has a knack of weaving visceral, base emotions (with some cheesy humour) into his storyline and appealing to a core audience who can suspend disbelief and enjoy the madness.

There’s a good chance that after you have seen this film, you may have some new favourite characters.
