Tom Hardy is Bob Saginowski, a bartender at a Brooklyn bar named Cousin Marv’s. James Gandolfini plays Bob’s Cousin Marv, in what is his last role before his passing in June last year. The bar, also known to some as “The Drop” is used by Chechen mobsters to launder their dirty money.

When the bar is robbed, Marv and Bob know the Chechen’s are going to be angry. In over his head, Marv makes a series of questionable decisions which digs them in deeper as Bob struggles to rationalise what is going on.

Bob becomes attached to an abandoned puppy named Rocco that he rescues from a rubbish bin. Rocco brings the attention of Nadia, who grows fond of Bob as well as the puppy.

Loyalties are divided as questions about the robbery expose Bob, Marv and their associates to the retribution of the Chechens. Bob finds himself entangled in the police investigation which slowly unravels the neighbourhood’s dirty secrets.
