The IMAX service includes everything from the ground up, including analysing your room’s geometry, seat placement, acoustics, 7.1 surround sound and the giant floor to ceiling curved screen. The 4K 3D dual-projection technology includes a proprietary image enhancer to maximise image quality and if you haven’t built your mansion yet, IMAX will work with your architects and designers to create the ideal room, not only visually but in order to take advantage of the technology. You will have a full panoramic view that fills your peripheral vision more than any other cinematic experience and gives you the feeling you're part of the action – and all without having to leave home.
To make the offer irresistible, IMAX will also install dual projectors with 4K resolution, one that does 2D and one that does 3D, so you can watch virtually any movie out there on an enormous screen up to 36.5 metres wide.
In addition to the incredible set up, IMAX promise to maintain the technology by offering 24/7 support, regularly monitoring your setup to ensure it’s running as it is supposed to. The only catch is (aside from the price tag) that IMAX say that this system will only be available to a “select few”, which almost certainly points to the fact that only a few wealthy people could afford to indulge themselves in
the IMAX experience at home. So, if you’re in the market, or would like to dream you were, check out the IMAX Private Theatre website. And if you don't have that lazy million kicking around, don't worry. At Selby, we can set you up with a fantastic Home Theatre set up for under $5,000.
