Brilliant! The kids are hanging out in the lounge room watching a DVD , and my favourite show is on Foxtel, but there is no way I'm going to get them to move. Wouldn't it be great if I could watch my show in the rumpus room without having to get another Foxtel box. Well you can, and it's not difficult.
You just need an AV and IR distribution system. It sounds like a complicated solution, but it’s actually really easy to set-up. To explain it simply, you just need to send the AV signal out to the rumpus room and send the remote control signal back to the lounge. Easy.
You will need to run Cat5e/Cat 6 leads between the two rooms. This acts as the conduit for the signals to travel between rooms. For a neat finish we suggest using wallplates.
Resi-Linx is one of the only brands that is made to work with Foxtel and after years of helping people install these systems, it is the brand that we highly recommend.
Then it's a simple job of connecting a transmitter RLBV140A (for the picture and audio) and IR emitter A1141SA at the Foxtel end and a receiver RLBV150B and IR target RLBV500 at the TV end.
The job should take only a few hours but will set you up for years of enjoyment. The beauty of this system is that it is really easy to add more rooms into the system.
